Most of us are blessed to have known Lisa Harmon Orrock. She was the most amazing woman I have known. She was so strong and she fought PH for about 10 years. Words cannot describe how difficult it is without Lisa. Even though she has passed, we want to continue to fight this horrible disease.
You can support those affected by PH, help fund research, provide support and education for the PH community, and more! Get involved by running, walking, starting a team, donating, sponsoring, volunteering or cheering - there are ways for everyone to take part!
Make the first step toward the finish line, join us knowing you have helped raise funds and awareness of PH! All contributions made will positively impact the local PH community and the mission of PHA.
On the evening of Saturday, September 23, 2017, our team named "Love for Lisa" will be participating in the O₂ Glow Night Walk at Twin Lakes in Palatine, IL. I would love to see our team contine to grow. Lisa would be so honored.
Pulmonary hypertension, which some call “the other high blood pressure,” is high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs that can lead to death from right-sided heart failure. Without treatment, the average survival time for PH patients is 2.8 years after diagnosis. With symptoms that include shortness of breath and chest pain, PH is often misdiagnosed because of its resemblance to other common illnesses such as asthma, COPD, and sleep apnea.
