Jasmine Neldon wrote -Love is Louder WMU is beginning its second year at Western Michigan University. We have huge plans, including a visit from Love is Louder co-founders Brittany Snow and Courtney Knowles, and in order to accomplish everything that we hope to accomplish, we need funding.
Your financial support will help not only with the Brittany Snow event, but with spreading the message that love is louder than anything that can bring you down. We will use the money to help with advertising materials, facility rentals, and programming supplies.
This year, we have a full, 5 person executive board as well as two Love is Louder WMU veterans who will serve as Graduate Advisers to the organization. Our executive board has two administrative positions (Chief of Operations and Recruitment and Publicity Chair) along with three programming chairs who will each lead one meeting/program per month dealing with specific issues falling under their category. The three categories are:
1) Mental Health
2) Diversity and Inclusion
3) Community Engagement
Some campus-wide events and organizations that Love is Louder WMU is already registered to participate in:
-WMU Orientation: Involvement Zone (orienting first year students with the message and organization)
-Bronco Bash (annual event for WMU students seeking involvement)
-Fab Fest (annual event put on by the Office of LBGT Student Services to celebrate pride and diversity)
-Army of Lovers (alliance of organizations and university departments that wish to address hate speech on campus)
