Love Kids Orphanage Foundation via Crowdrise

Love Kids Orphanage Foundation was born out of love for kids. In 2007, Francis Adu along with his family took in an orphan into their own home and raised them up with love. However, as soon as one orphan was looked after; another homeless child after another was found. Francis Adu, along with his family, took to heart how many orphans there were in the Brong Ahafo Region. Out of this realisation, Love Kids was founded. A building and land was shortly procured and eleven orphans now reside there. Love Kis is different from other orphanages in Ghana. Although we provide the orphans with education, food, shelter and health insurance; we also give them love and a family environment. We raise these children up, not as orphans, but as dearly loved daughter's and son's. The orphanage home posesses a big land which holds farm animals (such as goats and chickens), plantain and cocoa trees. With this sort of environment for the children, we raise them up in a traditional Ghanaian way. In this way, the children are raised to cultivate the ground and learn to live with nature around them. Each child at the orphanage each has their own special personality and contributes to the orphanage. Ebenezer, nicknamed "shortman" is the shortest 7 year old you will meet. He enjoys meeting western volunteers an always seems to get a piggy-back from them. Mary, who is the most recent orphan to join Love Kids, is enjoying the home grown food and is very young at only 4 years old. Emmanuel who is only 9 years old is excelling at school and wants to become a doctor when he is grown up. Anastasia at only 4 years old always seems to be the centre of attention an she loves eating rice balls, her favourite food. Angela who is 9 years old loves singing and most likely will become a gospel singer one day. Mary who is 12 years old is another of the most recent additions to Love Kids, she is always smiling and also loves to clean. Ama who is 13 years old loves to join in with ampe (clapping and dancing), and she loves to be the centre of attention. Amamimaquaah is only 4 years old and loves to play with the rest of the kids her age. Prince is 11 years old an is excelling well at school and is very respectful. Alex is 12 years old and is very keen to please and is a very happy boy. Divine is 8 years old and is doing so well at school that he came 2nd position in a class of 50 and he is very proud of this. Akwasi is 14 years old and is a role model for all the kids, he is excelling at school and he is always smiling. As you can tell, we value every child at the home as if they were our very own daughter or son. This is the very reason for our desire to keep on raising funds for Love Kids. Our love for the kids drives this force. In order to meet the daily expenses, such as food, shelter, health insurance and for the future, please donate on this page and encourage friends and family to do the same. Person by person, we can change the lives of these beautiful children.
