BENEFITING: SAMADHI HERMITAGE
Sita and her partner in India, need a safe home. The Samadhi Hermitage has supported Sita and her fatherless family since 2002. Through myself (bearded fellow with her in photos), the Hermitage bought a small plot of land, built their house, helped mom develop her small restaurant business, sent kids to school, and so much more. The photo here, of Sita in white dress, was last year, 21 yrs age!
The family story is here …http://www.samadhihermitage.org/Sarubai.shtml; and that's my precious Sita in the red shirt, age 9, yr. 2002. Seven years later, on her 16th birthday, this family webpage … http://www.samadhihermitage.org/SaH-India-TambeFamily.shtml.
Despite such impeccable support from myself and the Hermitage … which none of her family people could have ever done … Sita's parental families do NOT support their friendship, let alone marriage. Yet, he is the one person in this village, who has been her best friend, supporter, etc. for the past 7 years … AND, in my mind, is one of the best, most gentle, honest, caring fellows in the entire village!! And NO, he is NOT cheating on her!! I know his nature very well; we've traveled and worked together; I know such is not possible for him. I am living in this village for much of the past 10 years, on a 10 year Resident Permit, so I know quite will what goes on.
Here, it is "village side" mentality, where narrow-minded caste system attitudes prevail; and his caste is one notch below hers -- bad luck! Right now, until we can settle them with their own home, she is stuck living at Mom's home, doing chores and some private studies. Only they can secretly talk on the phone, visit someplace outside the village, etc. etc. Yuck!
So we are now inviting help from CrowdRise and friends, to raise the very necessary funds so Sita and partner can create their own life together. The funding goal, will be enough to find a place to live, and set them up in their own small business. This will also create sufficient respect from Village people at large, and thus quiet down Sita's own personal family attitudes about the matter … and thereby, they get "free to be"!
Through donations, the Hermitage has funded all the Social Work seen on its website ... http://www.samadhihermitage.org. Likewise, myself and friends performed most of the construction work, development, maintenance, etc. Now, at age 71, I am no longer active in such work and fund raising; and the Hermitage is a low-key "Meditation Cave Retreat Center" functioning solely on donations. Thus, our request for help, so we can give these two wonderful people their own home and good life.
Thanks so much!
