My name is Anthony Salem and I am a United States Army Combat Veteran. After getting out of the military I had a rough transition to a civilian lifestyle. Needless to say I was not honoring the life that was still inside of me. I had taken the fact that I made it home as a burden instead of a blessing and was lost. After battles with drug addiction, PTSD, and grief counselling, I have found new, productive ways, to honor those who did not make it back. We have all lost loved ones, one way or another. We owe it to them and ourselves to be the best people we can be. For me, fitness has played a huge part in my return to a productive, functioning member in society. A few months ago I came across yoga. My original opinion is that it is a series of stretches that is predominately for females. After diving deeper into the yoga world I came to find out that Yoga is so much more. It has helped me in way that I can not describe in words. I ask you to Please give back to a organization that is dedicated to helping other Veterans find their own path to recovery. I feel that so much grief and loss is overlooked on a daily basis by a lot of Americans. Many men and women in our Military have lost their lives for our continued freedom and I feel it is a small favor to ask that we recognize that by helping the ones we still can! Live in the moment my friends, you will never have this moment again... Namaste!
