BENEFITING: Lee Pesky Learning Center, Inc.

I'm running to raise funds for the Lee Pesky Learning Center. Or, as our team says it, I'm Running for Learning!
I'm a Boise City Councilwoman and Managing Director of the Idaho Investor Network, a group of philanthropists focused on civic engagement and advocacy in Idaho. I'm married to Scott and mom to Madeleine & Aiden McLean and am a runner, hiker, sometimes-mountain-biker and skier.
I first encountered the Lee Pesky Learning Center when our daughter was young. We looked to the Center as a possible resource to help us figure out why she was having trouble reading. While we didn't end up needing the Center, their help in figuring out what she needed was invaluable.
Fast forward six years or so and I met Alan and Wendy Pesky. Their passion for learning, for education, and most importantly for helping kids succeed in learning and reading is endless. They've invested so much in building a cutting edge Center for kids - right here in Idaho. We're lucky to have this incredible resource in Boise and I'm lucky to have the Peskys in my life.
It's been a couple years since I've run long distances. I've wrestled with IT and hip injuries for a bit over two years, and was finally feeling almost ready to try a distance running comeback so that I could get myself back into the shape I like to be in and to feel strong enough to run the long foothills and mountain trails in Boise and beyond. Learning that the Center needed a team of runners for this year's NYC Marathon got me over the hump of planning into training!
So I'm running for the Center to honor its 20 years of service to over 80,000 kids in 20 years and to help it serve all the kids whose families will seek help in the future. To learn more about the Lee Pesky Learning Center please
