Jen is delighted to be a part of the inaugural LP ZOO 26.2 marathon team this year. She has always had an interest in animals, and grew up with a wide variety of pets including dogs, cats, and even a toad named Peanut! Experiencing the chance to see the animals at Lincoln Park Zoo naturally became a favorite pastime of hers as a child, which is still true to this day.
Running regularly for the past 5 years, Jen has participated in dozens of races, including the exhilarating United Run for the Zoo 10k in the summer for the past 2 years. It has become a family tradition to run this race with her twin sisters. The 2013 Chicago Marathon will be lucky number 3 for Jen's marathon count, and her second time running it in Chicago.
Jen firmly stands behind the work that Lincoln Park does nationally and internationally in protecting wildlife and locally in ensuring that Lincoln Park Zoo remain a wonderful and free experience for families and friends to share. Lincoln Park ZOO holds a very special place in Jen's heart because of all the amazing memories she has shared there, both as a child and an adult, and feels like this is a great way to give back to the animals and people that allow Lincoln Park Zoo to touch so many lives in such an extraordinary way.
