LTL is about to embark on its second trip to South Africa, where we will continue training for Community Health Workers, as well as reproductive health education training in 3 schools in the Ufafa Valley. LTL's reproductive health program now reaches across the globe on 3 different continents.
South African Health Initative
The LearnToLive South Africa program began in October 2015, forming a partnership with Woza Moya, a community-based NGO located in the Ufafa Valley of rural KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Woza Moya was born out the extreme and urgent need for a response to the high percentage of HIV and AIDS cases in the community, and works a multi-faceted approach to preventing and lessening the burden of the disease.
Last year LearnToLive visited 300 people in health clinics, taught reproductive health to 80 students at 2 high schools, and held capacity building programs to support 30 community healthcare workers. And YOU, our donors, helped us raise over $7500 for this crucial program in just one month.
In order to continue this program, run it on the ground, transport our people around the communities, house and feed our volunteers, create education packs for schools, and buy supplies for our wellness clinics, we need your help! Every dollar brings us closer to providing one more person with the adequate health care that everyone deserves.
