Lucy's research trip to South Africa
Organized by: Ogochukwu Ufio
Thank you for making it this far to my fundraising page. I am a rising junior at Howard University studying Clinical Laboratory Science at Howard University. I currently have a 3.9 GPA and have made the dean's list for four consecutive semesters. I attend Howard University on a full scholarship, unable to meet the costs otherwise. My dream is to become a medical scientist and I am working hard everyday to make my dream come true.
As a Nigerian , I am deeply passionate about developing my country's broken health system. I plan to return to Nigeria after my medical education for that purpose. Fortunately, I have been blessed with an opportunity to start making these changes. This winter, I will be taking part in a research study in South Africa through a Howard-organized program, YAALI. Framed after President Obama's YALI Initiative, YAALI gives Howard students the opportunity to conduct research and volunteerism in the motherland. My research looks into what makes the health care delivery in South Africa successful. My hope is that by doing this, I can figure out strategies that can mend my beloved country's fractured health system.
This is where I need your help. I am in dire need of financial sponsors. The cost of the program is $3,600. This fee covers accommodation, food, airport pick up and drop off, round trip air fare and bus transport in South Africa. I hope you can support me by donating to my cause. I appreciate any and all of your support. No amount is too small. Thank you for reading till the end. Please don't hesitate to contact me with your questions at my email address: email@example.com. God bless! Ogochukwu (Lucy) Ufio
