Due to recently, finally losing my mind and the impending reality of bunions, I've decided to run the marathon in support of a wonderful charity that I believe provides incredible opportunity and support to those less fortunate than myself.
This year, I will be running (crawling perhaps) the NYC Marathon in support of the 14+ Foundation. The foundation, established in 2012 By Joe Mizzi and Nchimunya Wulf, was created to develop, build and operate schools and orphanages in rural African communities. Please see below for giving levels!
Ways you can give:
Aside from general donations, I'm offering a handful of sponsorship opportunities:
$3000 - Sprint Lucy Sprint! - But sprint in a shirt that displays my company logo!
$2000 - Run Lucy Run! - But run in pants that display my company logo!
$1000 - Jog Lucy Jog! - But jog in a baseball cap that displays my company logo!
$500 - Every Body Wins! For every $500 donation, I will donate one item of my clothing to "Dress for Success" a charity that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing gently worn women’s clothing, you will receive record of my donation and 14+ will receive the full $500!
About the 14+Foundation
The aggressive work this organization has already completed since it's inception is extremely impressive and the impact it has is life changing. I know that by supporting the 14+ Foundation you are choosing to support positive change, community growth and long-term sustainability.
On a personal note, Joe Mizzi is a huge supporter of many philanthropic causes. I would be remiss to ignore the tremendous efforts he makes for the New York Boy Scouts alone. Joe is someone who truly understands how to give back in a meaningful way that improves the life’s of many on an international level, for that, and for the merits of its mission, the 14+ Foundation deserves our support.
If you think I would run 26 miles for anything less then you have also completely lost your marbles!
THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!! I will see you at the finish line - you may have to wait till December :)
