CONNECTIONS EQUINE THERAPY PROGRAM wrote -
Hi, I'm Lucy. I'm the pretty red-head with the shrinking violet personality! I was lucky enough to start out in a good home with people that cared about me, but it was no picnic! My owners were hard-working folks and so were their horses. They made their livelihood taking riders out on long-distance trail rides to the more remote regions of this beautiful state. I was saddle-broke early and by the age of three was taking riders on extended treks, covering hundreds of miles a week. So much for my childhood! I was purchased from that ranch and later donated to Connections. What a change of pace! My pasture mates are some of the other younger herd members and we have a great time horsing around together. On any given day you can find us kicking up our heels and racing each other around our pasture. In my days on the trail I never learned the finer points of being a good and responsive riding horse. Now that I’m back in school catching up, my confidence has soared. I can even be a bit flamboyant at times. I’ve learned a lot and I’ve proven that I can do a good job in the arena with clients (especially the little ones), so I’m officially a Therapy Horse now. I SO want to keep doing this job! Your donation will help me and my herd-mates stay happy and healthy through the winter!
