Ludmila's Effort to Help Siberian Stray Animals
Organized by: Maria Sotnikova
Hello everyone! My name is Masha, and I am originally from a small industrial town in Siberia called Kemerovo. I am here today to ask your help in our effort to resolve the issue of stray animals in Siberia. It has always been a very personal and painful issue for me and my family in Kemerovo. Not being able to simply observe how thousands of stray cats and dogs suffer and die on a daily basis from starvation, harsh weather conditions, neglect and cruelty of people, my mom and dad started to feed and take care of them to the best of their ability. They buy cat and dog food, take them to a vet(where animals are usually put down as soon as the vet finds out they do not have owners), and let them stay in our apartment when the weather is extremely cold. What they do is obviously not enough, and your help is highly needed and extremely appreciated! I would like to ask for small donations so that my parents could do more: buy more food, provide medical care for those animals who are in need of it, and possibly set up a small shelter in Kemerovo. Me and my family strongly believe that animals teach us to be kinder to those who are weaker than us and need help, and thus make our society more civilized and more humane. Thank you very much!
