No, the organization isn't leaving, just the current Executive Director! Dr. Vicki Gross is leaving the organization to have baby number 2 and spend time with her very energetic family! However, as she leaves, she wants to give back to the organization that has given her so much. Vicki and her husband will be donating $1,500 to LVA-PW, which will be matched in part or whole by her husband's employer. That is $3,000!!! She is challenging everyone in the organization and beyond to donate any amount ($5, 20, $100, doesn't matter!) to help match that amount. So volunteers, students, Board Members, and community supporters, please give to LVA-PW!
Vicki's motto is "What you give out, by action or donation, you get back 10-fold in your life". LVA-PW gives so much to the community, will you give back to it?
LVA-PW started with one librarian, one adult learner, and a dream in 1991. Since then, LVA-PW has helped over 8,500 low-moderate income adults in Prince William County learn to read, write, and/or speak English. Adult learners struggle daily with literacy issues, and they could be your neighbor, your friend, or a family member. Each year, LVA-PW serves 650-750 American adults and adults from around the world who wish to build independence and prosper in our community.
