Lydia's GSMDM Summer Mission
Organized by: Lydia Dang
Going overseas to love on children has been on my heart for as long as I can remember. It's not something I want to do once or twice in my life but it's been a lifelong dream of mine to one day, start my own non-profit organization to build centers to teach and love on orphans all over the world. This past November, I decided to take a step of faith and apply to go on a mission trip to take the first step into making this dream a reality. I am honored and blessed to be apart of the Good Samaritan Medical Dental Ministry (GSMDM) 2016 team and can't wait to see what God has in store for us this summer.
My team and I will be spending the first 2 weeks of July in the northern province of Cao Bang in Vietnam to share love and provide spiritual and physical healing to the people of my motherland. Though I have no knowledge or experience in the medical field, I have the privilege of being the Children's Ministry Team Leader this year and could not be any more excited!
I am raising funds to provide gifts to 775 students, grades 1-5. Each gift (total cost of $15) will consist of a jacket, pair of boots and backpack. These children live in colder climates, often without a single jacket in their household. They must walk across mountains to reach their schools with only sandals on their feet. Last year, some of the children walked up to 4 hours to get to the school to receive their gifts and carried the boots home because they didn't want to get them dirty.
I will be spending most of my time in VN with the children in the area as my team is working miracles through the medical aspect of the mission. For the same amount it costs to perform a surgery in America, many more in Vietnam can be healed and have their lives saved.
100% of your donations for the mission (tax deductible) will go directly to the children and patients we will encounter in Vietnam. Or you can choose to help me personally as I still have some financial requirements to meet to make this trip happen. (Please indicate whether you'd like your donation to go to the children, patients or me) If you are unable to donate financially, I ask that you continue to keep me and my team in your thoughts and prayers or share this with any of your loved ones..
Any amount you are able to give is greatly appreciated and will help make a difference... Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
