BENEFITING: Lymphatic Education & Research Network (LE&RN)
EVENT DATE: Nov 03, 2013
The Lymphedema Run is running the New York City Marathon on November 3, 2013 to support lymphatic research! We--Christine, Elizabeth and Marissa--are excited to run the 26.2 miles of the iconic NYC Marathon as part of the official Lymphatic Research Foundation charity team.
Our hopes, in running as members of Team LRF, are to cultivate awareness and raise financial support to advance medical research of lymphedema.
What is lymphedema? Lymphedema is a health condition that affects 10 million people in the United States, and nearly 100 million individuals worldwide. It is the accumulation of protein-rich lymphatic fluid in an individual's interstitial tissue, which causes swelling, often in one's arms and/or legs, as well as other parts of the body. Please join us! If you feel called to support this cause, please know that your contribution will directly benefit the Lymphatic Research Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization committed to advancing medical research of lymphatic diseases. Every contribution, of any size, makes a positive different. We accept your support with deep gratitude.
