Mac's wrist surgery
Organized by: Brianna Barker
Mac is our 7yo NM boxer who is like a child to us. We rescued Mac when he was a year old from an abusive situation but he quickly adjusted to our loving home. Mac has always favored his front left leg after vigorous activity but after taking him to a vet several times in 2012 for x-rays, nothing was found. Recently things got a lot worse so we took him in to a new vet for x-rays and we're devestated to find that the arthritis in that wrist was is so bad that even pain medication isn't helping at this point. The only option to relieve Mac's pain is a surgery called carpal arthrodesis where they fuse all the bones in his carpal joint together. The only problem is this is an expensive surgery that can only be done by a specialist. The total cost of the surgery is $3200. We've be able to save up $1400 but are struggling to come up with the rest. Any donation will be so appreciated! Please help us help our boxer!
