THIS IS AMAZING!
September 14, 2016
EVENT DATE Feb 25, 2018
Hey everyone! As some of you may know, I started a DanceBlue team last year called "The Angels". It was one of the best things that I have ever done! My team raised $5,146 last year and I was honored to be one of the Top Ten Fundraisers (because of amazing people like you) with $1,710!! Next semester is DanceBlue 2018 and unfortunately, I will not be there because I will be studying abroad in Barcelona. BUT!! I am fortunate enough to have amazing friends that agreed to take over The Angels team so that my team can continue to grow and raise money for the families and children who are constantly battling cancer and all the horrible things that come with a cancer diagnosis.
To those who do not already know, I am a counselor for a cancer camp called Indian Summer Camp/ Kids Cancer Alliance. That organization has become my biggest passion. The people that I have been able to build relationships with are absolutely amazing. The kids have completely stolen my heart. I have been going up and visiting Indian Summer Camp for as long as I can remember and I will continue to volunteer for this cause as long as I possibly can. I love it beyond words and look forward to it every summer! I have such a huge place in my heart for these kiddos and I would do anything for my little heroes.
"All of the money that is raised through DanceBlue is donated to the Golden Matrix Fund, which then works to support the kids of the DanceBlue Kentucky Children’s Hospital Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic, as well as research done at the Markey Cancer Center. The Golden Matrix Fund was created to benefit the DanceBlue KCH Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic patients and families. Childhood cancer not only affects the child physically, but it also creates many emotional and financial difficulties for the entire family. The goal of the Golden Matrix Fund is to provide care and support for the kids through giving them and their parent’s comfort."
I hate that I will have to miss the marathon this year but I am so excited for my team to continue to grow and I want to help them reach their goal of $10,000. With your donation, I will divide up this money and donate it to the dancers on my team so that they all can reach their individual goals are are able to dance! I want to raise money for this team so I can still do my part before I leave for Spain and still make a difference. I raised $1,710 last year, so this year I am trying for $2,000!! Please consider donating!! These kids are amazing and deserve a cure from this terrible thing that has impacted their lives so much. No donation is too big or too small! Thanks everybody!!
