BENEFITING: AMBASSADOR PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
Did you know that every year 1.2 million children are sold into sexual slavery? That amounts to 3,040 children being trafficked in this deplorable industry every day – one child every 26 seconds! By the time you finish reading this, at least one more child will be sold. When I hear statistics like these, my heart breaks, and I often ask God what I can do to help.
I’m excited to tell you that God has provided me an answer, starting with about 60 precious children! Remember Nhu operates 65 children’s homes of refuge in 12 countries and later this year, I will be visiting three of these homes in West Africa so that I can answer God’s call to serve these children and point them to the amazing grace and love of Jesus Christ.
I will be travelling to West Africa from the end of December 2016 through the beginning of January 2017 with five other members of my church, Ambassador Presbyterian in Apex, NC. While we are there, we will be leading a New Life Camp with Remember Nhu’s Director of Spiritual Development, Sandy Bryan. Our goal is to help the children grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus while developing and nurturing lasting, meaningful relationships with them.
This is a great opportunity and I am thankful to God for preparing the way for me to go. This will be my first trip to West Africa and I am very excited to be serving God and His Kingdom in this way. Going into my senior year of college, a trip like this was not on my radar, but God had different plans. His calling for me to go to West Africa was made very clear to me this summer and He has opened doors for me to be able to go. This trip combines my love of Christ and His people, and my passion for working with children. While we are there, we will be spending time with the children and teaching them about Jesus, as well as looking towards the future and considering ways our church as a whole, and me personally, can continue to be involved in the incredible things God is doing in West Africa.
To make this trip a reality, I need to raise around $2,500. I also need people to pray with and for me as I prepare to go and while I am there serving. Will you consider partnering with me in either or both of these ways?
Please note that all contributions are tax deductible if using the link in the right column, and any amount I raise above my individual needs will go towards the other material needs of our team and to the ministry of Remember Nhu in West Africa. Crowdrise will also take a small percentage of your donation here as a transaction fee, and I will make up that difference.
Thank you for your continued love and support. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me!
Love and blessings,
