MADE is a summer program designed to foster leadership and personal relationships with Christ Jesus and the sharing of that relationship with others. Through MADE, teenagers and young adults have the opportunity to collaborate with each other and with local churches to serve the community in evangelism and service. The staff are 0 percent volunteer and so are the teenagers who come to help run a week long sports camp for 120 kids every day. It is our hope that each person involved with MADE will be empowered to build God's Kingdom wherever they may go.
Every dollar raised goes to provide:
- food for volunteers and the sports camp participants
- travel costs for our volunteer staff
- supplies for a VBS and Sports Camp
- To pay for insurance and surprise medical expenses
- Utilities (water, heat, power)
- Work Project supplies (tools, lumber, etc)
- To provide a completely free meal and sports camp for children 4-18 in the Sanktown Community of McIntosh, AL.
Working with the MOWA Choctaw Friends Center and its ministy since 2010, I am able to call this community home. It has been a place very close to my heart not because of what is done but because of the people. I've had a 10-year-old pat my had when I was sttressed and told me to "quit running" - I was walking across the field but that phrase meant the world to me. I have been able to see Chance, now 15 years old grow into a man with a very experienced background for his age and still try his best to seek God. The ladies in the community will give the shirt off their back to help a friend in need. This program is more about the community than it is about the sports camp and VBS. We want to empower this community to minister to each other and provide the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs for each other. If we can, through MADE, empower them to do Gods Kingdom Work in their own community, than we have done what Christ has called us to do - go and make disciples!
