Madison's Journey to Nepal
Organized by: Madison Burk
Most of us get 3 weeks of vacation a year from the daily grind of work, and I want to spend those 3 weeks giving back to those who need it most. In September, I will be going to Nepal to assist All Hands, an amazing international non-profit organization, that specializes in addressing the immediate and long-term needs of communities impacted by natural disasters.
As many of us know; On April 25, 2015, a 7.8 earthquake hit Nepal near the capital city of Kathmandu, the worst of its kind in more than 80 years. More than 9,000 people were killed, a further 23,000 were injured and the destruction to infrastructure and homes was massive.
The devastation to these communities & families has been massive, and they need our help. Your generous donations will specifically go towards rebuilding 5 permanent schools in the Nepal district of Nuwakot. All Hands has partnered with another non-profit called Room to Read, to ensure that 5 schools will be up and running by the end of 2016 to allow up to 2,000 children to continue their education.
Please help me in my journey and ensure that these children can continue to grow in the best way possible!
