Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising site. My name is Madison and I am 15 years old. I am a Freshman in High School and am excited to share my passion for faith and serving others with you. On November 24, 2014, we lost a great member of our family in a tragic accident. My cousin, Warren, went to live in his forever home, heaven. That day changed my life forever. Warren was many wonderful things but faithful is what always comes to my mind first when I think of him. It’s been a long 13+ months and my heart has changed significantly since Nov 24th. My perspective has changed and what I now live for is much different. I’m like any other 15 year old but I want to live a life that is focused on eternity. As my faith has grown since Warren went to heaven, I feel called to serve and minister to others. I have been feeling a tug on my heart to serve and get involved but wasn’t sure what that was or what that would look like. A few weeks ago, I was listening to a sermon at our church where our pastor was explaining what our donations were going to be used for. Then a local ophthalmologist spoke about his experience going to Haiti. He specifically spoke about a lady that was experiencing a true medical emergency related to her eyes and that in the US, her condition would require immediate surgery in which blindness and even death was a possibility. As he spoke, he became emotional telling his story of not having the adequate equipment to provide the services needed, so he did the only thing he knew to do which was to pray over her. Weeks later he followed up with someone in the Haiti village where he had served and inquired about the lady. He was shocked when he was told that she had experienced a full recovery and was doing fine. A true testiment to how powerful prayer can be and how God answers prayers. It was then that I knew and felt called to serve in some capacity. I have chosen to attend a Zambia mission trip in June through Family Legacy. The first trip is to Zambia to spend a week with orphaned children. There are 1 million orphaned children in Zambia and these children look forward all year to attending Camp Life and spending time with Americans. Our desire is to show these children how much God loves them. Please support me in my passion of working with these children in Zambia. I am very appreciative of your support!
