EVENT DATE Aug 13, 2016

Hello There. My name is Taylor Deyton and I am a former North Carolina Air National Guard C-130 Loadmaster assigned to the 156th Airlift Squadron / 145th Airlift Wing Charlotte, North Carolina. I served 6 years. During that time I was able to travel the world, including 1 trip to Afghanistan, and serve with some of the most selfless people this world has to offer. True Heroes, Citizen Soldiers. Enough about me. Lets get down to the reason I am doing this. As many of you may or may not know on 1 July 2012 while fighting part of the White Draw fire, that was ravaging part of South Dakota, a Charlotte based C-130 equipped with a Modular Airborne FireFighting System, coded MAFFS 7 for short, was forced to make an off runway landing in a field due to severe weather in the area, killing 4 of the 6 crew and severely injuring the 2 surviving members. This tragedy struck hard and deep and resonated around the country. We lost more than just people, we lost fathers, brothers, husbands, sons and friends. After the dust settled and the media cameras turned off most of the country moved on, but left behind were the families of these brave men who's daily expenses keep coming everyday despite the loss and the ongoing treatment for those who survived continues. It is for this reason I am doing this, to help offset these costs but also to raise awareness of the sacrifice that these Airman made so selflessly, because I do not want to see their memory fade into the pages of history like so many others that have given their life for this country have. Recently I found a team based outdoor/adventure style event called GORUCK that was founded by former special forces soldiers to test equipment for their brand, but then over time it exploded into a national craze that focuses on bridging the gap between Civilians and the military while teaching valuable teamwork lessons. This will serve as the platform for raising awareness for MAFFS7. This fundraiser is helping to create this memorial event, in which additional donations at the event will go directly to the families of the lost crew and the survivors. To those who donate if for some reason the event does not come to fruition all funds raised to help this cause will be distributed evenly to the families of MAFFS 7. The event is to be held on 8/13/2016. If you have made it this far in the reading then I commend you! As I am long winded at times. I just wanted to end by saying Thank You, for taking the time to read this and maybe even donating a few dollars to this cause. These Heroes and their families mean the world to me and anyone who helps share their memory and legacy gains my respect and eternal gratitude. Respectfully and Humbly, Taylor
