I'm proud to work with Cultural Leadership, a non-profit that teaches middle school and high school students in St. Louis to be the next generation of change agents and social justice activists through the lens of the African American and Jewish experience.
Being part of this program has changed the way how I see the world. As often as I struggle with issues of unfairness and injustice in our society, I am frequently reminded of our "inescapable network of mutuality" - our humanity - by the students and adults that I work with.
Please support our powerful work!
Letter from Birmingham Jail, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. ---
"I cannot sit idly by in Atlanta and not be concerned about what happens in Birmingham. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. Never again can we afford to live with the narrow, provincial "outside agitator" idea. Anyone who lives inside the United States can never be considered an outsider anywhere within its bounds."
