BENEFITING: MAGICIANS WITHOUT BORDERS
EVENT DATE: Mar 17, 2012
I am trying to raise some money for Magician's Without Borders, a small nonprofit that supports the work of a brave, compassionate and talented couple who perform magic for (and bring hope to) children and families in refugee camps across the world. Founder, Tom Verner, is a most wonderful person, and he had agreed to perform at our home to raise additional awareness about his organization.
If you are in DC, we hope you can attend the house party to see an amazing and touching magic show as well as a few stories about children all across the globe. But regardless, I hope you can give (even a very small amount) to this very worthy cause.
As you all know, I am cause-prone, but I rarely try to drag my friends into them. I am taking this somewhat ususual step because the group is so amazing. As a parent, I cannot imagine children who must live far from home, without any sense of what the future holds and without anything to do to distract them from their worry and fear. Food and housing is important, but perhaps hope is even more so.
I hope you can join us and give what you can!
