Scott Herman served seven years in the Military, four in the US Navy (Gulf War) and three in the MN Guard (Afghan Conflict). He was injured in the line of duty, getting burned from his waist to his knees. He spent 3 months on bed rest, lost 45 pounds and spent numerous hours in physical therapy. When beginning PT, he could only complete a few steps at a time with the assistance of a walker and couldn’t lift more than 2 pounds with his legs. Now, 20 years later, Scott is running marathons! Through this experience, Scott gained an incredible understanding of struggle and overcoming adversity.

In 2007, Scott decided to pursue a career in personal training, combining his love for fitness and helping others. He was certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and re-certified in 2013. Since then he has continued to expand his knowledge of health and fitness in a variety of directions. He has extensive experience with one-on-one training and group fitness, including boot camps, spin classes and kickboxing.

His military background and knowledge of the functions and vital processes of the human body make him a well-balanced and motivating trainer.

Scott participates in races year round. In total he’s competed in ten marathons, six triathlons and numerous other races - sometimes with clients to keep them motivated during their own events! He also enjoys broomball, softball, indoor football and opera.

At Magna, we knew that this amazing person would fit right into our ever-growing, ever-changing culture. Our goal is always to give our clients the tools they need to control their health and fitness, and with Scott’s added experience we’re able to do just that.
