In April 2015 Paul Zeiger; a 54 year old rural mail carrier working in the Washington Depot, Connecticut branch of the United States Postal Service; was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer. In addition, cancer has also been discovered in Paul’s liver and lymph nodes.
Paul has begun undergoing intensive, cutting edge chemotherapy at the Sloan-Kettering Institute in New York. His treatment regimen is presently scheduled for three times a week over the course of the next six months. With this admittedly aggressive course of treatment, his doctors are supremely optimistic regarding his prognosis. During this time, Paul will be taking a 6 month leave of absence from the Postal Service.
The next six months will be the hardest of his life.
His medical regimen will impact both him and his family.
Paul is a devoted husband to wife Jennifer and a loving father to his three children; all of which are aged 10 years and under. Paul also has a twin sister and other siblings.
Paul’s road to recovery is further impeded by the fact that his wife Jennifer recently lost her job at an asset management company in Stamford, Connecticut.
The news of Paul’s diagnosis comes as a great shock to all who know him, work with him and those that are his customers.
We all hope that this sort of crisis never happens to us.
The reality is that it CAN come upon any of us. Without warning.
Let’s show Paul that he is not alone, that he is valued and supported in his fight. We cannot know all the expenses that his fight to recover will incur. We can be sure that in addition to usual costs of daily living that there will now be major transportation and medical expenses. Hospital stays, medical co-pays and six months of lost wages can also be added to the list.
Please help Paul, Jennifer and his three children by contributing whatever you can to ease the financial strain and pressure being put upon this man and his family.
If we can bring forth a smile;
a demonstration of our care, concern and love for him;
a light into the shadows…….
Then let’s DO IT!
Let’s get behind Paul and his family with encouragement, support and funds to help them endure and weather this very crucial battle until the day that we hear these joyful words: “He is CURED!”
Thank you very much for contributing.
Every dollar will help.
Although we cannot fix everything, we CAN fix something! No amount is too small in the face of such great need.
