We are a 15 bed AIDS hospice and care facility that provides the highest level of care for people with debilitating AIDS in San Francisco. Over 950 very low income people (men and women) have received the dignity and respect that all people deserve.
These days we see people who can become healthier and stronger once stabilized in their health regimes And we continue to see many end-of-life /hospice residents. We treat all who come to Maitri with love and respect - our volunteers make sure someone is always there for their emotional needs, appointments and special outings and our staff ensures their meds & meals are well managed.
Our name means 'compassionate care & friendship" in Sanskrit. This is a quality that is shared with all who become involved with Maitri *(my-tree).
Thank you for sending your support and gratitude our way.
