More than 1.9 million people in Illinois are facing hunger. It’s true – and it’s unacceptable. Thanks to the leadership of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Illinois Attorney General in partnership with Feeding Illinois, the Illinois legal community is stepping up to help hungry families in our state during the inaugural “Lawyers Feeding Illinois” campaign. We are excited about our pilot year, and we hope the Chicago Bar Association will join our efforts!
How it works: Lawyers Feeding Illinois Begins February 18th, 2013 and ends March 1st, 2013. Teams of lawyers and legal organizations will compete for the most points by collecting monetary and food donations during the campaign. At the end of the campaign, two teams will be crowned champions: the team that earns the most points, and the team that earns the most points per capita (based on staff size or membership). Additional prizes will awarded for other categories. Here how points will be awarded:
· 1 point is given for every pound of food collected.
· 5 points are given for every dollar raised.
· 100 points are given if an organization registers by December 17.
· 100 points are given as a onetime bonus if your organization delivers your collected food to yourdesignated drop-off location.
How to get involved: If you are representing a team of lawyers or legal organization click REGISTER to sign up for the event. Check to see if your team has already been created. If it has, join it! If not create your team and invite your team members to join. Then it’s time to start fundraising. There are no minimums and no requirements. All of the money you raise rolls up into the total amount raised and we're going to be relentless about fundraising until we have made an impact on hunger in our state.
If you are simply here to support your Lawyer or organization go to their fundraiser page or click DONATE.
