EVENT DATE: Jul 23, 2016
On July 24th, we're doing the Long Island Tough Mudder Half (just a half, so does that make it a "Kinda Tough Mudder"?) to raise money for a scholarship in honor of our cousin/sister, Major Angela Erale. We know that Angela would have loved doing this goofy, muddy, ridiculous race through with us - and would have kept us hysterical laughing the whole time!
Major Angela Erale served as a Platoon Leader and Executive Officer in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2008, then was later deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2009. She also served as Headquarters Company Commander and eventually became Operations Officer and Production Team OIC at Fort Bliss, Texas. She was tragically lost in a terrible skiing accident on Valentine’s Day 2015.
This Scholarship celebrates Angela’s life of service, and each year it will give two female JROTC seniors at Cape Henlopen High School in Delaware a thousand dollars each. Recipients must demonstrate Major Erale’s example of leadership and show Angela’s tenacity, optimistic spirit, and sense of humor in everything they do.
Angela continues to inspire us, make us laugh, and touch our hearts everyday. We hope to contribute as much as we can to this scholarship in her honor, and and we really appreciate any and every donation to help us meet our goal. Thank you so much for your support, it means a lot to us!!
