Sometimes we wonder about those we pass on the street who are homeless... How or why they are there? I can tell you as someone working to end homelessness the reasons are many and varied. I want to share the story of one man I have and am working with right now to move to his own housing, George. He came to us post 2 strokes and having half a lung removed. He worked for many years in the music industry and now is disabled and unable to provide a living for himself. His story is not unusual, however, his outcome is looking bright thanks to many service providers and people that are stepping in to not have him end up living on the streets. Thanks to his efforts, as well as help from PATH we are looking at getting George into supported housing soon and he is well on his way to applying for and getting his social security benefits started. That's him in the picture on my page. He is a wonderful soul with a great story. I will update his picture when he gets into his housing, hopefully soon. Thank you for taking a moment to read this and thanks in advance for helping our homeless brothers and sisters, like George.
