MAKE AN IMPACT - HELP BLAKE TO COMPLETE HIS EDUCATION
Organized by: Maurine McFarlane
Blake Melvin is currently a Junior Theatre Major at Bowie State University. He graduated from the Creative And Performing Arts High School (CAPA) in Philadelphia, where he developed a talent that has blown his peers as well as his teachers out of the water. His passion and talent for not only acting, but theater altogether, is very strong.
Throughout the years, Blake has continued to impress his professors with the assignments he has completed, the performances he has put on, and the poetry he has written. Unfortunately, the struggles of chasing his dream of becoming an actor, financial hardship, and balancing out his schoolwork resulted in him losing his financial aid, which forced him to take a year off from school. Despited this, Blake has never strayed too far from the University. Throughout this past year, Blake worked with the Bowie State Theatre Department on many projects, including the “Ten Minute Play Festival,” where one of his short plays was brought to life on stage.
With the price of tuition increasing at Bowie State University, Blake has taken on the challenge of working two jobs in an attempt to return to the university as part-time student. However, even with his valiant effort, Blake is still short on the amount that is required, and with the Fall Semester quickly approaching, he is looking for some help.
Blake is very serious about getting back into school so that he can continue his progress as well as complete his college career on a prestige Academic and Performance level. With your help, and much appreciation, you can give this extraordinary young man the opportunity to do so. This is an excellent opportunity to investment in a brilliant young man's future.
