With Research There Is Hope!
HikeMF is an annual hike that raises funds for Myelofibrosis research.
In 2014, I was diagnosed with Myelofibrosis (MF). Myelofibrosis is a rare blood cancer that affects between 16,000-18,000 people in the United States. There is no cure.
According to several studies, the median life expectancy is 5-7 years from diagnosis. Once I was diagnosed, I met other patients, many of whom are in a desperate situation with no cure in sight. Unfortunately, some of these patients are no longer with us. It is because of this urgency, that my sister and co-founder Lori Rittenburg Small, my family and I decided to become proactive and form HikeMF. It is imperative that research dollars be raised to find a cure.
Every donation made through HikeMF, for the benefit of the MPN Research Foundation, will support the important research work of George M. Church PhD, Harvard Medical School. You can read about his research at http://www.mpnresearchfoundation.org/2015-George-Church.
Please help us find a cure. Your donation will make a difference!
