Over the past six years, Devona Rollins, a 46-year-old single mother living outside Detroit, has put herself and her family back on track. Overcoming struggles with the law, mental health and addiction, she has built her own business which provides human resources, social media and other services to small businesses in the Detroit area. But she still faces financial instability – paying more than half of her income on rent. This month, Devona is telling her story to help shine a light on America’s rental housing crisis.
Make Room is crowdrising to help her stay ahead on rent and pay other bills. Your dollars will support the families via the Make Room campaign, sponsored by Enterprise Community Partners, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization. Once we reach our individual family goals, additional donations will help us advocate for the 11 million families across America struggling to afford a place to call home.
Please note: your contributions to the families are not tax-deductible, however contributions to Make Room (ie, funds donated after family goals have been met) are tax deductible.
