My son David Allen Doty suffered with a brain tumor, when he was 8 years old. He had a wish granted to our family to experience being a cowboy in Tucson Arizona. That memory has carried our family for the last 23 years since his passing. I road my 10 speed on the Wish A Mile WAM 300 mile bike tour for 12 years to help raise money to grant wishes to other children. I then suffered a massive stroke one year and a TIA the next year. I was put on blood thinner for the rest of my life. My doctors warned that riding my bike on the open road was too big a risk for me to take. The risk is less for me to run in an organized run. So, this is my way of continuing to raise money for Make A Wish in my son's memory with our team named "David's Heroes."
