As a South African woman and a Princess of my tribe, who proudly hails from the rural area of Thaba Nchu inthe Free State Province, maternal and child health is a cause that is extremely personal to me. I am a survivor of two near death experiences, 1. A near fatal ectopic pregnancy and 2. Pulmonary Embolism due to pregnancy. I have also had two miscarriages but have been blessed with two little angels.

The experiences I had have led to me to dedicating my life to advocating the importance of society to be conscious about maternal and child health. South Africa is one of the countries where HIV/AIDs remains a serious that cannot be separated from addressing the challenges of addressing the progress of maternal and child health. The percentage of young girls being infected is rising at an alarming rate, deaths by improper abortions amongst young girls is a serious concern, substance abuse amongst our youth is also a problem. The challenges are endless and the responsibility of addressing these problems cannot be left to government alone. There is a definite need to build a sense of community in addressing these matters and this has prompted me to come up with this campaign in a bid to educate women, girls and the society at large about maternal and child health including sexual and reproductive health.

I am currently extremely challenged to execute any of my plans because of lack of resources. I sincerely urge for your assistance in raising enough funds to enable me to execute this plight. Your assistance will be highly appreciated.
