BENEFITING: MALARIA NO MORE
ORGANIZER: MALARIA NO MORE
EVENT DATE: Nov 04, 2012
I will be running my first ever marathon on November 4th in New York City to raise money for Malaria No More. A child under age 5 dies from malaria - a preventable and treatable disease - every minute! Please support the work being done by this organization to stop malaria by making a donation today.
After running several half-marathons I decided it was time to try for a full marathon. I could not think of a better place to run a marathon for the first time than New York City! During my two visits to SOS Childrens' Village in Lusaka, Zambia I saw first hand what a difference preventing and treating malaria can make in the lives of children and their families in Africa. I am therefore very glad to be able to run to raise money for an organization devoted to eradicating malaria.
My goal is to cross the finish line and raise as much money as possible for Malaria No More - no child should die from malaria!
Thank you for supporting Malaria No More and my run! Tusen takk! :-)
The ING New York City Marathon is the world’s largest full marathon — with nearly 40,000 runners from 125 countries — and one of the five "World Marathon Majors." Last year, Team MNM had runners travel from across the country and around the world, including from Senegal, Hong Kong and Australia, and raised nearly $150,000 to support our programs in Africa.
