Male Mentoring Scholarship
Organized by: Brandon Hawkins
Greetings and thank you reading about our initiative. Southern Guilford High School in Greensboro, NC recently started a mentoring and college preparedness program for young men who could be considered "at risk." These young men, of various races, were "trouble makers" at some point. However, since the Male Mentoring Initiative was started, all of the young men have made tremendous strides to better themselves. As a group, the coordinator and mentors of the program have decided to reward one of the very deserving young men with a scholarship to attend college. This money will be donated directly to the student to go towards college expenses (books, tuition, access codes, etc.). Being that 95% of our mentees will be first generation college students, any amount of money will be of assistance. The goal is to raise $500; however, we are going to donate whatever we can, no matter the amount, to this deserving student. Again, we thank you for reading our story and hope that you will consider donating to this great cause. Thank you.
