NEW INFORMATION BELOW!
Thank you for your commitment to participate in this year’s Manhattan Tip to Tip Walk for God’s Love We Deliver. We are so excited for this event and all of the fun things surrounding it.
We are getting lots of emails and lots of checks in the mail. (hooray!) Some of you are have made donations, and may not be available for the walk, but we are not quite sure who you are. Please reply to this e-mail to confirm your attendance, if you haven't already done so on Facebook.
What to wear: Usually, the Tip to Tip Walks have an official color. This year, we just want fun and colorful. So if possible, please wear a bright colored shirt!
There is a lot of positive energy surrounding the walk! We have had people offer their time to serve as drivers, others have offered their creativity to create posters/banners, and now our friend Jamie Busch would like to offer his culinary expertise to provide a healthy lunch option for the walk.
There are good places to buy a quick sandwich near the People’s Garden at St. John the Divine, where we will stop for lunch at or around 12:30pm. However, we think that Jamie’s service would be a fantastic lunch option, and a convenient one, as he plans on delivering the meal and setting up a picnic for those who would like to be a part of this lunch option.
There is obviously, absolutely, no obligation to make this your lunch option. We just thought it would be a fun option since it is in the spirit of God’s Love’s work. It will be a nutritious, homemade meal, meant to keep you fired up for the rest of the walk. We have had Jamie’s cooking before, and we can happily say that it is truly made with 100% LOVE.
The meal that Jamie is prepared to offer is the following:
o Tip-to-Tip Pho Soup Lunch - $10 per person, paid at lunch time.
- Pho Soup - Vietnamese Vegetarian Miso Broth
- Additions of rice noodles, tempeh, mushrooms, herbs, bean sprouts, limes. fermented kimchi
- hot jasmine tea
- dessert: sticky rice with coconut and fresh mango
Jamie Busch is a natural foods chef who is fascinated with the alchemy of cooking and fermenting, and one who continuously expands his culinary explorations.
