When I'm inspired by someone's story, I'm immediately hooked. Kevin Sun, the founder of WE3, told me about this incredible project a month ago and I'm already so excited about where he's going to take this. Join me and the rest of our team in supporting Kevin's amazing endeavor.
Here is what Kevin Sun, the founder of WE3, wrote -
This semester, along with many other of my phenomenal University of Delaware friends, I am helping to sponsor the construction of a community center in Mankhu, Nepal for displaced and marginalized women.
My past volunteer experiences in Nepal in 2010 and 2011 exposed to me stagnant poverty at its most extreme. I met and spoke to mothers, who all together, had zero years of education and simply wished for better for their own children.
Their situation, common throughout the world, goes beyond broken school systems, deeper than one's internal drive to succeed, and is more basic than most of us can imagine. These women lack in their lives the existence of opportunity; and the construction of this community center will change that. The earth-bag build center will provide a space for vocational and health training to women and give them a chance to break out of the deepest poverty.
While I am not able to travel to Nepal this year to help with construction, I remain passionate about empowering those on the margins of society. I hope that you will join me.
