BENEFITING: Parkinson Foundation of Western Pennsylvania
EVENT DATE: Jun 23, 2017
This is something that is hard for me to talk about but three years ago, my Dad was diagnosed with Parkinsons. Shortly after this life changing diagnosis, he had to retire from his dream job to receive proper treatment. My Dad is the rock of our family. He is so strong and is facing this disease head on!
This diagnosis has proved just how strong he truly is. He has been focused on keeping healthy, for not only him, but his family as well. Exercise is key to keeping this disease at bay, and my Dad has been constantly moving and has become involved in all sorts of fun activities! Boxing, biking, kayaking and even yoga, are just a few of the things he has been doing. Nothing seems to slow him down.
One of the many ways that my Dad has been able to stay active is becoming extremely involved in the sport of pickleball. This Saturday June 24th, 2017 the Parkinson's Foundation of Western PA is holding a Pickleball Tournament to raise money to help fight this awful disease. We are going to be cheering him on at 12:30pm at the Pittsburgh Convention Center.
This pickleball tournament raises much needed money to fund research to find a cure. Please consider donating even $10 to help this cause!!!! Thank you! Kick butt Dad!!!!! We can't wait to watch you on Saturday!
