BENEFITING: Children of Peru Foundation
In March 2013, Georgetown University's Patrick Healy Fellowship Class of 2013, traveled to Peru and volunteered with Manos Unidas Peru - the only private school serving the needs of special needs students in the Cusco area. The experience was such a wonderful wa yto begin 2013 that there is no better way to end the year than to give back to such a wonderful organization.
Manos Unidas Peru serves special needs children in Cusco, Peru, providing education for approximately 50 children on a budget of just $110,000 a year with 40% of their support coming from individual donors. This fundraiser provides an opportunity to assist the team at Manos Unidas Peru in providing a safe environment for these children to participate in program that prepares them for integration into mainstream education.
Note: As 401(c)3 status is still in process for Manos Unidas Peru, the Children of Peru Foundation is accepting donations (in addition to doing their own substantial fundraising) to allow your contributions to qualify as tax-deductible charitable contributions.
