There are currently 16 cats at the shelter (plus there are always more coming in) and quite a few dogs. They could use your help! See More

Hello all! I'm trying to raise money for my local animal shelter, which is located in Mansfield, MA. It's a great shelter, which I can guarantee personally because I've been a volunteer there for a while and I'm now a shift captain on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Here's a description of the shelter from their Facebook page: "The Mansfield Animal Shelter is one of the most active shelters in SE Mass. The shelter has one of the highest adoption rates and an excellent reputation. With the exception of the Animal Control Officer, shelter animals are cared for every day of the year by a group of volunteers. Veterinary expenses are paid for by your donations and adoption fees, not by the Town of Mansfield, through the non-profit Mansfield Shelter Friends, Inc. (Mansfield Shelter Friends, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising money for the care of animals at the Mansfield Animal Shelter. Since the Town of Mansfield does not pay for veterinary expenses, Mansfield Shelter Friends uses donations and adoption fees to cover animals' medical expenses.)"

Without donations and without Mansfield Shelter Friends, Inc. (mentioned above) we wouldn't have money for vet bills or even to house the cats and dogs at the shelter. This means that if the shelter doesn't get enough money, a lot of the animals would have to be put down, whether it's due to medical problems and not being able to pay for meds, etc. or if they have simply been at the shelter for too long.
We've been lucky enough to receive enough money so far, and with your help we can continue to prevent animals from being put down.

So as you can see, everything the shelter needs is acquired solely through donations - whether it's cat/dog food, blankets/beds for the animals, cat litter, or money.

We've been getting a lot of new cats and dogs lately, and we could use all the donations we can get! Obviously this crowdrise page is taking monetary donations, which is the best way to donate because the shelter can use the money for whatever they need. Will you help our shelter? I (and everyone at the shelter - especially the cats and dogs) appreciate anything you can give, whether it's $5 or $50 or $500.

Thank you. <3
