Maq's Relocation to Santa Fe, NM for Graduate School
Organized by: Maqueita Eleazer
EVENT DATE Dec 28, 2016
Peace and blessings!! Thank you for taking the time to read about my campaign!!
I am Maqueita Eleazer, Spiritual Life Coach and owner of Maq Elè, LLC (www.maqele.com). I currently run my spiritual life coaching practice in Baltimore, Maryland where I support women in being in a loving, committed relationship with themselves as they discover, embrace and live as their authentic selves. While my target market is LGBTQ women, I have and do coach ALL women!
As a Spiritual Life Coach I use spiritual law and principle to support women in discovering who they are, accepting who they are and living authentically as who they are. I support them in becoming advocates in their own lives so they can develop meaningful relationships with others in a way that honors who they are authentically. However, I have worked with some clients who have been halted in their desire to live authentically. For most of them this was because of some form of trauma in their past such as rape, depression or grief. Since I do not have the necessary training, it is my intention to expand the support I offer to my clients by obtaining a Masters of Arts degree in Art Therapy and Counseling from Southwestern College (SWC) located in Santa Fe, New Mexico. My classes start the week of January 9, my intention is to make the cross-country drive the beginning of December.
Why Santa Fe? Currently there are no schools on the east coast that offers a MA degree in BOTH art therapy and counseling. When I complete my matriculation at SWC, I will be prepared to sit for both the art therapy and counseling licensing exams. Most importantly, relocating across the country is a stretch out of my comfort zone. I am aware that to the degree and extent that I stretch past my comfort zone, my clients will too; in other words, I cannot ask my clients to stretch and create the life they desire, if I am unwilling to stretch within my own life.
My mother nurtured my creativity during my childhood; it is an integral part of who I am. So in 2007 when I began my journey of living authentically, my creativity served as a principle that guided me throughout my process. I have used my creativity to heal through break-ups and to even create my business plan. Therefore it is my intention to combine the art therapy and counseling with the work that I already do as a spiritual life coach!
I conclude by acknowledging the Presence and Power of God within me. It is because of this Power that relocating to Santa Fe is even a possibility. When I did not have the required prerequisite courses, it was the Voice of God that led me to my local community college; when I didn’t have the transportation to get to those classes it was the Voice of God that told me to ask my friends to borrow their cars and it is the Voice of God that has led me to start this campaign. I am requesting your support, be it prayer, well wishes, and/or making a financial contribution to my campaign as I take this leap and relocate to Santa Fe!! I am in deep gratitude in however you choose to support!
Much love and many blessings to you as you walk your own journey of living authentically! ~Maq
