BENEFITING: Maranatha Womens Ministries
WHAT WE NEED: Recently Maranatha House lost the lease on the home they had been using. Another home was found but needed a lot of work. Staff, residents and volunteers have all pitched in to make it livable but several things are still needed. An HVAC unit was donated but money is needed for installation. With winter around the corner, this is a priority. The house also needs foundation work and several smaller projects. WHAT WE DO: Maranatha House, located in Jackson county Tennessee, is a yearlong Christ centered residential recovery program for women. Most of the residents have struggled with drug addiction, abusive relationships, and incarceration. Almost all have had their children removed. Some are very sick when they arrive. All have been emotionally traumatized in some way. Since its inception 5 years ago, Maranatha House has helped dozens of women break the chains of addiction and abuse to become productive members of society. They have an 87% success rate. Maranatha is a 501(c)3, and is supported solely by private donations. All staff work pro bono and receive no salary. We receive no government support.
