“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” - John 14:18 NIV
On April 9, 2016, I completed my first ever marathon of 26.2 miles at the geographic North Pole. That is 90 degree north on top of the world over the Arctic Ocean. Crazy, but exhilarating, and it was my first step towards achieving the Marathon Grand Slam - marathons on all 7 continents of the world plus the North Pole. Since then, I have completed another marathon on July 10, 2016 in Cairns, Australia and the next race would be in Athens, Greece on my birthday on Nov 13, 2016. My plan is to race the rest of the continents and complete the Marathon Grand Slam in Antarctica on November 2017. To get the latest update of my races around the world, follow me on Instagram @vivian7plus2 or check out the website http://vivian7plus2.weebly.com/press.html.
I am covering 100% for my own expenses for all the races, and using my pursuit of the Marathon Grand Slam to raise money for a deserving cause: Ninos De Fe Children’s Home in Tijuana, Mexico. The home is fully supported by my home church Coastline and serves about 35 children ranging in ages 7- 18. It is more than an orphanage, it is a safe haven for abandoned and abused children. Here, not only do they experience the love of a mother and father from their caregivers, but they also experience the love of Christ through everyone that have supported them by giving generously over the years.
We have been visiting the children at Ninos De Fe every month for years and got to know them as a part of our family. Whenever we were there, they would rush over to give us the tightest bear hug and their smiles would simply melt our hearts away. Each one of them has a dream about what they want to be when they grow up. If you have a heart for children and want to provide a better future for these kids, you have the power to make their dreams come true. I will give you some examples of their dreams:
- Angel P. 9 yrs old, wants to be a soldier
- Armando R. 10 yrs old wants to be a soccer player
- Jessica R. 14 yrs old wants to be a teacher
- Luis N. 8 yrs old wants to be a policeman
- Nicandro V. 11 yrs old wants to be a pastor.
- Omar G. 9 yrs old wants to “take care of an orphan’s home”
If you want to know about these lovely children, I can send you pictures, videos and if you are in San Diego area, I can even take you to visit them in person. They are absolutely precious.
Helping financially for these children will not only assist in the cost of daily needs or school supplies, it will also have a lasting impact for generations to come as they grow up to reach their greatest potentials and change the people around them and the world they live in. It could be a blessing that goes beyond your wildest imaginations.
What your tax-deductible donation will be doing:
- School supplies
- Household supplies
Thank you in advance for your donations. Please don't think of any donation is too small or large; if even a mustard seed can move a mountain, your donation can help impact the world.

Had a wonderful race in Athens and reunited with several of my North Pole Marathon fellows. What a better way to celebrate a birthday than running the original marathon route as Pheidippides did in 490 BC?

Traveled to ChiangMai, Thailand with the whole family and they were cheering for me at the finish line!
