BENEFITING: WORLD VISION International
Hello there! I started running about 10 years ago, and ran my first 5k almost six years ago. Fast forward to 2017, and I recently ran my first marathon –the GO! St. Louis Marathon! I enjoyed marathon training so much that I decided I wanted to continue training for another marathon before I actually ran my first one. Running has transformed my life completely, and I am so thankful for it. I first heard of World Vision a couple of months ago while attending a Christian concert. The stories that the band members told of their work with World Vision were so heartwarming that many attendees like myself decided to sponsor a child via World Vision. My sponsored child is Ani from Armenia, and I just received a letter from her family with her family tree attached. It is such a nice feeling knowing that I can do such a small thing to help make a big difference in the lives of a family from across the world! Sponsoring Ani has encouraged me to want to do even more for children like her. I’ve decided to combine my passion for running to help more children like Ami by running the Chicago Marathon and raising money for World Vision. Water is the most important nutrient for humans and animals, and having clean water can make quite a big difference in the lives of others in third world countries. Clean water for people in third world countries means less disease, better sanitation, and having more time to invest in other work activities besides collecting water! This leads to a better and brighter life for everyone! I'm running with Team World Vision to help provide clean water for communities in Africa. Do you know that almost 1,600 children under 5 die every day from diarrhea associated with contaminated water, poor sanitation, and improper hygiene? The needs are real, but we believe that we can end the clean water crisis in our lifetime. World Vision’s main goal is to provide clean drinking water to a new person every 30 seconds to help with these issues of unclean drinking water. A $50 tax deductible donation equals clean water for 1 person! Will you invest in the future and provide clean water for 1, 2, 3, or even more people in Africa? We can help change lives, together. Thanks for your support! World Vision provides more clean water than any nongovernment organization in the world. They work with communities around the world to help solve the puzzle of poverty -- providing things like clean water, nutritious food, education, medical care, economic opportunity, and spiritual development.
