I'm currently registered to run in the Fredericton Marathon on May 8, 2016 (Mother's Day). I've been running for 3 years, and I got hooked to distance running last year. I like to think that running saved my life, having suffered with depression and anxiety most of my adult life. It brought joy back into my life, stabilized my moods, and gave me the strength and confidence I never knew I had. While completing a marathon is one of my goals, my greatest wish is to bring my children with me, in order to witness the end result of months of training and sacrifice, and so that I can make them proud. With this comes the added expense of accommodations, travel, and food. If it was just me, I'd wing it and sleep on a relative's couch and eat tuna from a can lol.. But as it is my first (hopefully of many) marathons, and I am striving to set a good example of having big goals and working hard to achieve them, I feel it is of utmost importance for my kids to be there with me.
