BENEFITING: Sarah's Circle
EVENT DATE: Oct 08, 2017
HOURS PLEDGED: 156
As many of you know, I have been volunteering for the past year at a women's homeless shelter, Sarah's Circle, in the Chicago Uptown neighborhood. During this time, I have seen many women come at low points in their lives and successfully exit empowered financially and holistically by the support they received at Sarah's Circle. I now would like to take an opportunity to personally promote this cycle by running the 2017 Chicago Marathon and raising funds for a specific and effective fund within the organization called the Make it Home Fund.
The Make It Home Fund provides a unique opportunity to facilitate Sarah's Circle clients escape chronic homelessness by allotting each woman up to $500 dollars to use for one-time costs associated with moving into an apartment. This fund is highly impactful - it allows gainfully employed women who lack the financial savings to overcome what would otherwise be cost-prohibitive obstacles to directly exit the homeless cycle. In other words, when YOU donate to the Make it Home Fund, YOU are directly supplying the last step to achieve permanent housing status for these women!
For this reason, it's critical to keep this fund well-maintained with donations so that every woman who has worked her way out of homelessness can be given the opportunity to exit the cycle completely via safe and secure housing.

I'd like to thank you in advance for taking the time to check out and contribute to my campaign to break the homeless cycle for women in the Chicagoland area!
