BENEFITING: GIRLS ON THE RUN OF NEBRASKA INC
This past July I finished my first marathon. In training for this, I have discovered a passion for running. Not just that, I have found confidence in myself I never had before. It is a confidence I desire others to find in themselves. As I began to absorb information about running and running groups, I learned about Girls on the Run. Girls on the Run is a nonprofit program for girls in 3rd through 8th grade with a mission to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. On September 20, 2015 I will be running the Omaha Marathon as a Girls on the Run of Nebraska SoleMate to raise money for this organization. Stepping out and fundraising for this organization is a new adventure for me. The way I see it is if I can get 50 people to donate $5, I'll reach my minimum goal! (But why stop there?) Girls on the Run of Nebraska relies on donations to keep the programs going for some 1,800 girls across the state. Please consider donating to support me and Girls on the Run of Nebraska as we aspire to build strong, happy, healthy and confident girls. Your donation-- of any amount -- will make that possible. $10 provides one background check on a GOTR-Nebraska coach $20 provides 5K entry for girl with financial need $50 provides CPR/First Aid Certification to one GOTR-Nebraska coach $125 provides a full scholarship (tuition and 5K entry) for a girl with financial need $500 provides printed curriculum materials for 10 sites $1,500 helps underwrite a team at a Title 1 School. Thank you so much for donating to support my marathon adventure and to support Girls on the Run of Nebraska. To learn more about getting involved, visit www.gotrnebraska.org.
