February 22, 2017
On April 22, 2017, people in Washington D.C. and throughout the world will be marching for science. We are planning a satellite event in Charleston so that the local community can make their voices heard. The minimum cost for the march in Charleston is $3,000, and includes the cost of the permits, insurance, stage and sound, security, toilets, and marketing. We are asking for donations to make this event happen. We are also in need of community partners and volunteers. Thank you for your support as we continue to work towards a bright future for all. "The March for Science champions robustly funded and publicly communicated science as a pillar of human freedom and prosperity. We unite as a diverse, nonpartisan group to call for science that upholds the common good and for political leaders and policy makers to enact evidence-based policies in the public interest."
Any funds remaining after the March For Science - Charleston will be donated to the Lowcountry STEM Collaborative. They publicize and organize STEM activities around the Lowcountry and produce the Lowcountry STEM Festival.
